  • Have sufficient earnings within an established base period
  • Be unemployed or employed less than full-time
  • Be out of work sans your own default
  • Be actively seeking work and willing to accept suitable work, when offered
  • Be willing to keep a weekly record of your work contacts

After you are sure you are eligible for unemployment claim, you need to have some documents ready:

  • Social Security number
  • Personal Identification Number (PIN), if you are re-starting your existing claim
  • Names and addresses of your last two employers and dates of employment
  • If you are not a U.S. citizen, your Alien Registration number
