Hemingway called a Russian spy and a good example to trump

In the American newspaper the Daily Beast published an article explaining the details of Ernest Hemingway recruited for intelligence work of the Soviet spy Jacob Golos. On the work of the writer on Soviet intelligence told the newspaper an employee of the Museum of the history of the CIA, author of the book “Writer, sailor, soldier, spy: the secret adventures of Ernest Hemingway” Nicholas Reynolds, who studied the data declassified documents.

According to Reynolds, the recruitment of Hemingway occurred in new York in the winter of 1940-41. NKVD agent Voice in their circles were no less famous than the legendary writer. He spent his entire life dedicated to the revolution before the first world war fled on foot from Siberia to China, and then immigrated to the United States, where he became the founder of the Communist party and a key figure in Soviet espionage.

According to the source, despite the fact that Hemingway did not become a great spy, the NKVD, for many years he adhered to the Pro-Soviet point of view. So, in 1948, the writer has supported the optimistic view of the Soviet Empire of the presidential candidate of the United States Henry Wallace. The American edition gives the example of history with Hemingway as an illustration of the methods of influence of Russian intelligence services, who nowadays tend to exert influence on certain circles in the United States.
