Employment Security Online Applications Instructions
Remember you can not use your browser’s “BACK” button within the Employment Security Online Applications – use the “Previous”, “Continue” and “Submit” buttons at the bottom of each page. If you use the “BACK” button, the transaction will not process or permit you to continue, possibly resulting in a delay or denial of benefits. As you finish the online application, you may receive notification that “your claim cannot be filed using the online Internet claim filing application” and you will be instructed to call the U.I. Claims Center at 615-253-0800 or toll free at 1-877-813-0950. Residents of Fayette, Lauderdale, Shelby or Tipton counties please contact your local unemployment insurance office. Once you have concluded the online application, you will receive a confirmation page that states that your information has been sent to the Department of Labor and Workforce Development. And Unemployment insurance is taxable for Federal Income Tax. You may have 10% of your weekly benefit amount deducted. You may discontinue this withholding by accessing “View Benefits/Update Information” at www.tn.gov/labor. Information about the 1099G form is available at www.tn.gov/labor-wfd.
If you want to apply for unemployment , note that this application is scheduled to be available on Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. You should also reminisce that weekly certification hours of availability is from Sunday 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Monday – Friday 7 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Online Applications hours of availability is Sunday 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. and Monday – Friday 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.
